Call for Applications: Agribusiness Innovation Challenge (win above N2M zero-equity prize money)

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is calling on women and youth-led agri-tech start-ups with supply chain innovations to apply for the first edition of this Agribusiness Innovation Challenge, which will be implemented in Kaduna, Benue, Nasarawa and Oyo States.

The Agribusiness Innovation Challenge culminates in an award day where finalists battle for N20,000,000 ($48,000+) in zero-equity prize money. While there will be only one 1st prize winner in each of the four states, other finalists also get to pitch to a room full of global investors.

Applications are now open in Kaduna, Benue, Nasarawa and Oyo State until October 3, 2022.

Selected participants will be notified by October 6, 2022 and must confirm their participation by October 8, 2022.

Benefits of the Oyo State Challenge

  • Agribusiness Advisory – Program participants will have access to a pool of mentors, subject matter and agribusiness experts
  • Zero Equity Cash Prizes – Top 4 finalists will have access to cash prizes. Prizes will be valued at up to N2,000,000 equity/debt-free.
  • Global Network – Access to global business network
  • Deal Day – Program participants would have the opportunity to present their innovations in front of potential investors.
  • Specialized Technical Assistance and Access to Dedicated Workspace – 15 Selected startups will undergo 2-months of intensive and specialized technical assistance and business development training by experts and key stakeholders.

Program Timeline – October 2022 to January 2023

Who Can Apply? – The program is solely for Agribusinesses startups with supply chain innovations in Oyo state.

Benefits of the Benue Challenge

  • Business Advisory – Get access to a pool of mentors and business experts
  • Free Business Acceleration and workspace – 15 Selected startups will undergo 2-months intensive and specialized technical assistance and business development training by experts and key stakeholders. Startups will also be able to access the workspaces at Aiivon Innovation hub Makurdi and all attached benefits for free.
  • Partnerships – Access to GAIN and Aiivon network of partners
  • Access to Investors – The selected startups would be exposed to local and international investors for possible funding for their business.
