The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Industries, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru has urged Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) residing in or conducting business in Lagos East to apply for the soon-to-be unveiled N300 million constituency revolving loan at a six percent annual interest rate.
The lawmaker had in November 2021 organised a one-day MSME Clinic/Workshop in collaboration with the Fate Foundation and Standard Chartered Foundation.
Over 1,000 MSMEs from 98 wards in the 16 LGAs/LCDAs of the Lagos East Senatorial District attended the event.
The program significantly increased the capability of MSMEs in the district and drew executive leadership from partners and business-related regulatory agencies like BOI, SMEDAN, CAC, LIRS, NAFDAC, and the LSETF.
A knowledge pack containing seven valuable books on topics like financial management, human capital, legal, strategy, marketing and communication, digital technology, and tax management, written by reputable companies like Deloitte, KPMG, and Verraki among others, was provided free of charge to all participants in order to address the knowledge gap that is one of the main causes of MSMEs failing.
After the training, participants also earned Enterprise Development Certificates.
Abiru will officially launch the N300 million constituency revolving loan at 6 percent interest rate per annum on September 15 in fulfillment of the commitment made to constituents at the ceremony.
