Share

Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria celebrated the graduation of its Women in Technology Cohort 4 by awarding a total of $50,000 in grants to five accomplished recipients. This initiative, in partnership with the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC), aimed to nurture and bolster the growth of women-led technology ventures across Nigeria.

At the award ceremony, Dayo Aderugbo, Head of Brand and Marketing for Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria and West Africa, highlighted the importance of empowering women, especially in a demographic transition where nearly half of Nigeria’s population consists of females. He emphasized the bank’s commitment to supporting economic empowerment and professional growth for women through programs like the Women in Tech Incubator.

Aderugbo reiterated the bank’s dedication to fostering female tech entrepreneurs, aiming to identify, cultivate, and launch unique business concepts into the market. The program stands as a testament to the bank’s pledge to remain “Here for good,” ensuring these women are celebrated for their distinctive contributions to the Nigerian business landscape.
