Senator Olamilekan Adeola, representing Ogun West Senatorial District, has positively impacted over 15,000 residents through a comprehensive N3 billion empowerment program. Beneficiaries from five local governments received training in vocational skills such as leatherworks, sewing, confectioneries, fish production, ICT, and agricultural value chain, accompanied by cash grants totaling N1 billion.
The empowerment initiative also provided beneficiaries with essential working tools like sewing machines, dryers, freezers, and gas cookers. Additionally, Senator Adeola distributed 30 mini-buses, 50 tricycles, and five ambulances to general hospitals within the senatorial district, enhancing healthcare accessibility. Three Hilux patrol vehicles were allocated to Nigeria Police Area Commands, further bolstering security efforts.
Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, and Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Igbesa, received two brand new buses each, facilitating their mobility and operational efficiency. Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin commended Senator Adeola’s dedication to uplifting his constituents, highlighting the program’s transformative impact on the community.
Senator Adeola emphasized the program’s goal of fostering gainful self-employment opportunities for youths and women across Ogun West, transcending tribal, religious, and political affiliations. He expressed optimism that beneficiaries would leverage their newfound skills to establish Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, contributing to local economic growth and development.
