Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is set to spread love this Valentine’s Day by granting N50,000 to 15,000 beneficiaries through the Lagos Market Trader Money initiative.

The initiative aims to empower market traders and promote a 21st-century trading environment. Commissioner for Agriculture, Abisola Olusanya, highlighted the importance of educating traders on market hygiene, food safety, cleanliness, storage, marketing, and transportation during a sensitization event at Lagos Fresh Food Agro-Hub in Idi-Oro, Mushin.

With over 500 attendees from Ikeja and Oshodi local governments, the event focused on relearning essential trading practices to ensure inclusivity for 60% of the population engaged in the informal sector.

Olusanya emphasized the need for partnerships among food-producing states to address food insecurity effectively, underlining the importance of collaboration in tackling this growing challenge.
