Ardova Metric Tonnes LPG Plant to begin Operations
Share

The completion of Ardova Plc’s new 24,000 metric tonnes Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) plant in Lagos marks a significant step towards addressing the availability of cooking gas in Nigeria. With the facility expected to commence operations soon, it has the potential to increase the supply of LPG in the country, potentially alleviating the recent price increases witnessed in the market.

Owned by businessman Mr. Abdulwasiu Sowami, the plant’s capacity to meet approximately 50% of Nigeria’s LPG demand is promising. The infrastructure includes a 1.6KM 10-inch jetty line connecting the facility to the NPSC jetty in Apapa, demonstrating a commitment to efficient distribution.

As the federal government continues efforts to promote clean energy, the Ardova gas plant represents a significant investment in supporting this agenda. While it remains to be seen whether consumers will benefit from cheaper prices, the increased availability of LPG is a positive development for the country.
