Z.Systems, a Morocco-based B2B marketplace transforming Africa’s retail sector, has raised $1.5 million in seed funding. The round, led by Moroccan venture capital firms MNF Ventures, Witamax, Cash Plus Ventures, and Kalys Ventures, is awaiting approval from the Morocco Competition Council.
Founded in 2022, Z.Systems tackles challenges in traditional retail, including fragmented supply chains and inefficiencies. The startup has empowered over 15,000 active retailers, holding 85% of Greater Casablanca’s addressable market, processing over 800,000 orders, and achieving a 95% positive feedback rate.
With this funding, Z.Systems plans to scale operations and enhance Morocco’s retail infrastructure, focusing on small business empowerment and sustainable growth.
Backing from the investors underscores the company’s impact. Hiba Mrani Alaoui of Witamax praised its ambition, Dounia Boumehdi of MNF Ventures supported its innovative strategy, and Ghita Zniber of Kalys Ventures highlighted its operational expertise.
CEO and founder Samer Choumar, a former BCG consultant and Columbia Business School graduate, called the funding a pivotal step toward driving advanced solutions for traditional retail in Morocco and beyond.
