The Innovation Pitch Contest (IPC) championed by Thescathcompanies as key initiative under TSC’s mission to inspire and foster innovative thinking among the next generation of visionaries.
IPC is designed to identify and reward innovative solutions at their earliest stages,
equipping participants with foundational knowledge on idea development, crafting pitch decks, and preparing for real-world challenges. By powering & introducing these young minds at the secondary school level to building solutions to solving real problems within northern Nigeria & globally.
The contest took place on Saturday December 14th and The top 10 ideas from the contest gained access to Thescathcompanies INCUBATOR program, where the participants will receive the support needed to develop and scale their solutions—both during and after graduation.
IPC is currently one of the biggest innovative contest with cash prize rewards for such initiatives within this region, The total prize pool of $1,000, (1.5million naira) was shared among the top 5 winners, who were
Maryam Ishaq from Al-Areeb schools in 1st place winning N500,000,
Magdelene Danjuma & Dodo Deborah Maigida from Panaf schools in 2nd place winning N400,000, Johnathon Silas from Danbo
International in 3rd place winning N300,000,
Mus’ab Umar from Al-Areeb schools in 4th place winning 200,000
and
Zainab Alkali Ba’aba from Kamlik Schools in 5th place winning N100,000.
The Innovative pitch contest identifies and supports innovation at its earliest stage using a unique medium of getting the ideas from a brief talk day to an idea submission stage, after which the entries are reviewed, selected finalists were notified and worked on their pitch decks and sent in and the finale took place with each student pitching their ideas in person to then go on to be screened and scored by a panel of judges using a public voting process.
Thescathcompanies is a tech-enabled Venture capital company focused on providing early-stage private equity funding and business development advisory services for businesses across various sectors, has a mission is to assist businesses in scaling and to accelerate startup growth across Africa, with a primary focus on Northern Nigeria.
Alongside one of its features, ACCELERATOR, a funding and mentorship vehicle designed to support tech-enabled seed-stage startups in Africa. Through ACCELERATOR, they provide private equity funding and mentorship to help startups scale and succeed, and intend to apply this model from a more early stage targeting students at secondary school level and providing these students a direct way to build on their success as a start up.
