In a bold move to support female entrepreneurs, insurance firm emPLE has announced free one-year ShopProtect Insurance coverage for businesswomen, aligning with the 2025 International Women’s Day theme, “Accelerate Action.”

The initiative, revealed on emPLE’s social media pages, aims to provide financial security for women-owned businesses, protecting them from unforeseen risks such as fire, break-ins, and workplace accidents. The company emphasized that the program is not just about insurance but about empowering women who play a crucial role in driving local economies.

According to emPLE, its engagement with women entrepreneurs in Lagos over the past month highlighted the challenges they face, from financial insecurity to business disruptions. “We listened to their stories, their challenges, and their aspirations, seeking ways to support and empower them,” the firm stated.

Beyond providing insurance, emPLE has also produced a documentary capturing the resilience, struggles, and triumphs of these women. “We envisioned a world where every businesswoman has the support she deserves to thrive against all odds. But imagination alone is not enough, so we took action,” the company added.

With women entrepreneurs often facing barriers to accessing financial services, emPLE’s initiative is a step toward bridging the gap. By offering free ShopProtect Insurance, the company is not only reducing financial risk for businesswomen but also reinforcing its broader mission of financial inclusion and business resilience across Africa.

As a leading financial services provider, emPLE continues to offer tailored insurance and investment solutions to retail and corporate clients. Through initiatives like this, the company is setting a precedent for corporate organizations to take concrete actions in supporting women-led businesses.

With the rising number of female entrepreneurs in Africa, access to financial security remains a crucial factor in business sustainability. emPLE’s intervention ensures that more women can focus on growth without the fear of losing everything to unexpected setbacks.
