The WTO Young Professionals Program is an opportunity for young individuals worldwide to gain work experience with the World Trade Organization.
As a WTO Young Professional, you will not only be enriching your CV with experience, the organization will also provide you with a stipend of CHF 4,000 Monthly for living expenses.
The WTO Young Professionals Program is an opportunity for young people to enhance their knowledge of WTO and skills in international trade issues.
The Programme aims to widen the pool of professionals from these WTO Members, with the ultimate goal of broadening their representation in the WTO and/or other regional and international organizations.
The recruitment policy of the WTO is to seek to attract and retain staff members offering the highest standards of competence, efficiency and integrity.

Eligibility
Have completed an advanced university degree in economics, econometrics, international relations, law, environment studies, or other trade-related subjects relevant to the work of the WTO.
Have a general knowledge of the work of the WTO.
Possess technical knowledge in one or more of the areas of work indicated above.
Have good drafting skills in English. Ability to draft in French and/or Spanish would be an advantage.
Be able to work independently and as part of a team, in a multicultural environment.
Have demonstrated a strong interest in international trade and the multilateral trading system.
Express commitment and passion for trade or WTO-related work.
Be up to the age of 32 years, as of 1 January 2026
Be fluent in English. A good working knowledge of either French or Spanish would be an advantage.
Benefits
The WTO Young Professionals Program offers selected young professionals the opportunity to gain work experience in the WTO.
It is a one-year program without the possibility of extension.
Selected applicants will be given a monthly stipend of CHF4,000 for the whole year
