Kike Technologies has unveiled Kike Ai, a revolutionary kitchen application poised to transform Nigeria’s food and gas sectors with the ambitious goal of creating one million jobs nationwide. Designed to enhance efficiency, ensure consumer convenience, and stimulate job creation, the app leverages artificial intelligence to address common household and industry challenges.
Speaking at a recent virtual press briefing, the chief executive of Kike Technologies, Femi Oye, described the app as a game-changer in the way Nigerians manage cooking gas. “Kike Ai tackles a prevalent household issue — the unexpected depletion of cooking gas,” he said. “By using advanced algorithms and data analytics, the app predicts when gas is running low and enables users to order refills ahead of time.”
The innovation is expected to create thousands of jobs, particularly in logistics, delivery services, gas retail, and the food industry. Oye explained that as the app gains users across the country, gas stations and food businesses will experience increased demand and improved operational efficiency.
He emphasised that Kike Ai is more than a predictive tool—it represents a broader platform for economic development. The app not only enables gas marketers to meet demand more reliably, but also allows businesses to access real-time data to improve decision-making, supply chain efficiency, and service delivery.
Oye called on operators in the food and gas industries to embrace the innovation, noting that the app would soon be launched nationwide. He described it as a “mutually beneficial solution” that addresses both economic and operational challenges while fostering growth.
Beyond gas management, Kike Ai functions as a digital marketplace, connecting gas retailers to a broader customer base and supporting online transactions. It also serves as a culinary assistant, giving users access to a wide array of recipes and cooking tips, making it useful for both professional chefs and everyday cooks.
In the face of rising gas prices and growing concern over household spending, Oye pointed out that Kike Ai offers a valuable tool for managing kitchen resources more effectively while also supporting food safety and hygiene practices. The app provides real-time insights, customer feedback, and quality control features, which are essential for commercial and domestic users alike.
The initiative falls under SMEFUNDS, a social capital enterprise focused on ethical, green investments. Oye explained that SMEFUNDS aims to tackle poverty, climate change, and energy inefficiency, with a special focus on supporting households at the Bottom of the Pyramid (BoP).
Commending the innovation, Titi Oshodi, Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Climate Change and Circular Economy, praised Kike Ai as a smart solution for modern cities. She noted its potential to improve lives, promote sustainability, and drive job creation in Lagos and beyond.
“In a fast-paced city like Lagos, innovations like Kike Ai show how technology can address everyday problems,” she said. “From chefs to food vendors, this app is creating ripple effects that improve livelihoods and support small businesses.”
Oshodi reiterated the Lagos State Government’s commitment to supporting technological innovations that improve economic outcomes and promote sustainable living for residents.
