The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disassociated itself from a fraudulent website demanding payment from candidates who missed the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the board warned that the fake website, operating under the name “Copyrightwriter Personal J Rescheduling Flw”, is asking candidates to pay ₦15,700 into account number 8520641017 at Sterling Bank for alleged rescheduling of the missed examination.
Dr. Benjamin emphasized that this is a scam and stated unequivocally that JAMB is not affiliated with the individuals or platform behind the false claims.
He also urged Sterling Bank to swiftly take action against the fraudulent account and confirmed that the incident has been reported to the relevant security agencies for investigation and prosecution.
JAMB reiterated that exams are not rescheduled for candidates who miss them for personal reasons. However, candidates who experience biometric verification failure during registration may be rescheduled free of charge if they meet the required criteria.
Dr. Benjamin further advised candidates and the public to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes, stressing that JAMB does not charge any additional fees beyond the official registration cost.
