The Chairman of Dangote Group and Chancellor of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Kano State, has unveiled a five-year development initiative worth N15 billion to transform the institution’s infrastructure and academic environment. The funding, to be managed through the Dangote Foundation, was announced during his second investiture as Chancellor at the university’s 5th combined Convocation ceremony.

The plan will support the construction of new student hostels, a modern engineering laboratory, a world-class computer laboratory with 24-hour internet access, and a state-of-the-art senate building. Additionally, the Foundation will offer automatic employment in Dangote Group companies to the university’s best graduating students.

The university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Musa Yakasai, revealed that more than 18,000 students are graduating from seven different academic sessions, including 2,950 postgraduate degree and diploma holders.

Also speaking at the event, Kano State Governor and Visitor to the university reaffirmed his commitment to completing all ongoing state-funded projects on the campus, regardless of when they were initiated.

In recognition of their contributions to national development, five prominent Nigerians were awarded Honorary Doctorate Degrees. The recipients expressed gratitude for the recognition, with one of them urging graduates to represent the university positively as they advance in life.
