Access Bank Disburses Over N6.6 Billion to Customers Through DiamondXtra Scheme
Share

Access Bank Plc has announced that it has rewarded customers with over N6.6 billion through its DiamondXtra savings scheme since the initiative began, highlighting its ongoing commitment to financial inclusion and customer empowerment. This disclosure came during the launch of Season 17 of the scheme in Lagos.

The bank revealed that over 30,000 families have benefitted from the DiamondXtra programme, which has also supported customer loyalty through regular engagement and consistent rewards. During the launch, the bank exceeded its promise to reward 160 customers by honouring 165 recipients on the spot, including five individuals who each received N100,000.

One of the standout features of the scheme is the “Salary for Life” initiative, which currently benefits 131 customers. Access Bank announced plans to expand this by awarding N200,000 monthly to winners for the next 15 years, offering a long-term financial cushion for loyal savers.

The Head of Consumer Propositions and Liabilities at the bank stated that the bank is targeting the onboarding of one million new customers through this campaign. The focus is on improving financial literacy, empowering women, and strengthening support for SMEs across Nigeria. Part of the new initiatives includes a digital referral program where clusters of 50 people can win N100,000, and out of 150 “Salary for Life” slots, 30 are dedicated to women. Twelve customers will also receive N1 million each, and two SUVs have already been awarded.

In a bid to support SMEs, Access Bank is offering more than just savings incentives. The bank provides training through webinars, supports feasibility studies, and grants unsecured loans to businesses based on turnover, with some customers receiving as much as N10 million.

The DiamondXtra scheme has contributed to a sharp increase in the bank’s customer base, which has grown from one million to over five million, with transactions exceeding N6 billion. Access Bank says the launch of Season 17 is part of its broader strategy to deepen customer engagement and promote financial literacy across the country.

Testimonies from past winners like Onyeamechi Uchenna reflect the real impact of the initiative. Uchenna shared how his win helped him start a small business and gave him the confidence to pursue greater financial goals, describing DiamondXtra as a platform for true empowerment.

In a further display of its social impact, Access Bank, through its Access Women Network, recently provided financial support to two breast cancer patients, reinforcing its dedication to inclusive, people-centered banking.
