Access Bank Launches DiamondXtra Season 17 with Over N200m in Rewards, Expands ‘Salary for Life’ and SME Support
Share

Access Bank has launched the 17th season of its flagship DiamondXtra reward scheme, pledging to give away over N200 million in prizes to customers, including a return of the popular ‘Salary for Life’ offer. At the season launch held at the Lagos Trade Fair Complex, 165 customers walked away with cash prizes ranging from N5,000 to N100,000.

DiamondXtra is a hybrid savings-current account that offers customers interest on deposits alongside full transactional functionality. According to Access Bank’s Unit Head of Consumer Banking, the initiative reflects the bank’s commitment to transforming lives and deepening financial inclusion in Nigeria.

A major feature of the new season is the revival of ‘Salary for Life’, where selected winners will receive N200,000 monthly for 15 years, totaling N36 million each. Three customers will be selected each quarter for this life-changing reward. So far, 131 individuals have benefited from the offer in previous seasons.

This year’s edition will also see the introduction of “digital cluster draws” through the Access More app, allowing users to generate referral codes and form groups of 50 people. Each group will stand a chance to win N100,000. Out of the 150 planned clusters, 30 are reserved exclusively for women in support of Access Bank’s ‘W’ initiative, aimed at empowering women through finance and opportunity.

Customer feedback continues to shape the reward structure. While cars topped the list in 2023, about 40 percent of customers requested a return of ‘Salary for Life’ in 2024, prompting its reinstatement.

The bank is targeting 12,000 winners this season, up from 4,000 in Season 16, and will distribute a total of N228.7 million in rewards. DiamondXtra currently has over five million account holders, with the bank aiming to add one million more by the end of 2025.

Access Bank also highlighted the scheme’s role in supporting entrepreneurs. Beyond cash rewards, DiamondXtra now offers up to N10 million in collateral-free loans to SMEs, alongside business training and mentoring.

The bank emphasized that DiamondXtra is also a driver of financial inclusion. Many participants, especially those in underbanked areas, are opening bank accounts for the first time due to the reward scheme.

New and existing customers can join the scheme by dialing *901*5# or visiting any Access Bank branch to open a DiamondXtra account with a minimum of N5,000. The more a customer saves, the higher their chances of winning in the monthly, quarterly, or cluster draws.

The initiative continues to expand across Nigeria, with a growing presence in Lagos, Abuja, the South-West, and North-Central regions. Access Bank says DiamondXtra remains a blueprint for combining financial services with meaningful social impact, reinforcing its mission to improve lives and strengthen communities across Africa.
