In a bold move to reshape education in Nigeria, Bildup AI has launched an ambitious initiative aimed at delivering artificial intelligence (AI) education to 10 million students over the next five years. The campaign, titled “AI in Every Classroom,” seeks to integrate AI-driven learning into schools nationwide, marking a major step toward digital transformation in the country’s education sector.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Chibuike Aguene, described the initiative as a game-changer for Nigeria’s academic system. He said the campaign would help democratize access to quality learning by equipping students with 21st-century skills, regardless of their socio-economic background. According to Aguene, the goal is not only to teach AI but also to harness its power to deliver personalized, effective education at scale.
Bildup AI has already begun rolling out the platform, with a pilot school in Enugu serving as the first adopter. The company plans to use the early feedback from this deployment to refine and scale its offerings across more regions.
To drive national adoption, Bildup AI has committed N500 million over the next year to expand its reach and develop its technology further. A significant portion of this funding will support research and development efforts aimed at improving the platform’s subject coverage, enhancing its alignment with the Nigerian curriculum, and ensuring cultural relevance for students across diverse communities.
One of the standout features of the platform is its ability to automate up to 80% of a teacher’s workload. This, according to Aguene, will free up educators to focus more on mentorship, student engagement, and critical thinking. The platform also uses AI to deliver individualized feedback, enabling teachers to tailor lessons to the unique learning styles and needs of each student.
Beyond classroom instruction, the initiative positions Nigeria to become a regional leader in AI-powered education. As global economies continue to shift toward technology-driven industries, equipping students with foundational AI skills is seen as a strategic move to prepare the next generation for the future of work.
Ultimately, Bildup AI’s campaign aims to bridge the country’s digital education divide, empower young learners, and foster a more inclusive and tech-savvy society. With a clear roadmap and strong investment, the initiative could redefine how education is delivered in Nigeria and set a precedent for similar efforts across Africa.
