Civil Defence Board Opens Recruitment into Correctional, Immigration, Fire and NSCDC Services
Share

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has launched a nationwide recruitment exercise into four federal paramilitary agencies under its supervision.

In a public notice published on its official website, the board invited applications from qualified Nigerians seeking to join the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

The recruitment exercise spans three main categories: General Duty, Inspectorate Cadre, and Assistant Cadre, with positions open across various qualification levels.

In the General Duty stream, the role of Superintendent of Corrections (CONPASS 09) is exclusive to the Correctional Service and is open to applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery. The Federal Fire Service is recruiting Assistant Superintendent I (CONPASS 09) for law and engineering graduates. Across all four agencies, candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in any field can apply for Assistant Superintendent II (CONPASS 08).

The Inspectorate Cadre includes roles for registered Nurses, Midwives, and Nurse-Midwives under the Senior Inspector of Fire (CONPASS 08) in the NSCDC, FFS, and NCoS. Applicants with National Diplomas or NCE qualifications can apply for Inspector of Fire (CONPASS 07).

For those in the Assistant Cadre, positions are available for holders of SSCE, drivers, artisans, and mechanics. Assistant III (CONPASS 03) requires five O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics. Tradespeople with relevant licenses or trade test certificates can also apply.

To be eligible, applicants must be Nigerian by birth, aged between 18 and 35, with a minimum height of 1.65m for males and 1.60m for females. Male applicants must also have a chest measurement of at least 0.87m. A clean criminal record and physical fitness, backed by a certificate from a government-recognised hospital, are mandatory.

Applicants are to submit their forms online via [https://cdcfib.career] beginning Thursday, June 26, 2025. The portal will remain open for three weeks from the date of publication.

The CDCFIB warned that multiple applications will lead to automatic disqualification. It also emphasised that the entire recruitment process is free of charge. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by physical screening and interviews.
