Imagine a Nigeria where your dreams no longer die with your zip code.
That’s the vision of the National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP), a bold government initiative focused on ending extreme poverty, empowering young Nigerians, and creating sustainable livelihoods for the future.

Whether you’re a youth looking to learn a skill, a micro-entrepreneur needing credit, or an unemployed graduate tired of waiting, NAPEP is designed to help you build, earn, and grow.

The National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP) is Nigeria’s flagship anti-poverty program focused on:

  • Vocational training for youth
  • Access to internship grants
  • Micro-credit support for entrepreneurs
  • Job creation in key sectors like automobile, agriculture, and construction

More than just a program, NAPEP is a transformation agenda—to change the economic, cultural, and social lives of Nigerians by investing in people, especially the rural and urban poor.

Benefits

If selected, you can benefit from:

  • Vocational Training in trades like tailoring, auto repair, ICT, fashion design, aluminum work, etc.
  • Internship & Startup Grants to help you transition from training to earning
  • Micro-Credit Access (zero or low-interest loans) to support your small business
  • Job Placement in selected industries
  • Business Advisory & Mentorship
  • National recognition and certification
  • All selected beneficiaries will receive a monthly stipend of ₦100,000 paid by National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP), subject to achieving planned results for each month.

And most importantly, a real pathway out of poverty.

🎯 Who Is Eligible?

To qualify for NAPEP, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Be a Nigerian citizen by birth
  2.  Have a valid National Identification Number (NIN)
  3.  Be 18 years or older at the time of registration
  4.  Possess at least an O-Level certificate (WAEC/NECO/GCE)
  5.  Currently unemployed, underemployed, or running a micro-business
  6.  Must demonstrate interest in skills acquisition or enterprise development

How to Apply – Step by Step

Follow these steps carefully:

Step 1: Get Your NIN Ready

Make sure your National Identification Number (NIN) is active and verifiable via NIMC. This is needed to validate your identity.

Step 2: Visit the Official NAPEP Portal

Go to the official NAPEP application website (NAPEP PORTAL).

Step 3: Fill the Online Application Form

You’ll need to enter:

  • Personal details (Name, DOB, LGA, State of Origin)
  • NIN number
  • Education history (at least O-Level)
  • Your preferred training area or business sector

Step 4: Upload Required Documents

Scan and upload:

  • A valid ID (NIN slip, National ID card, or Voter’s card)
  • O-Level certificate
  • Passport photo

Step 5: Submit & Await Screening

You’ll receive a confirmation email or SMS after submission. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further screening or orientation.

Step 6: Start Your Training or Get Funded

If selected, you’ll begin training or receive startup grants/micro-credit support based on your application path.

Whether you want to build a business, learn a trade, or fund your hustle, NAPEP is your shot at a better life.
