The National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) has issued an official warning to the public regarding fraudulent schemes falsely linked to its newly launched AgGrow Programme.
In a statement released by the agency, NADF revealed that it has received reports of scam messages, phone calls, and social media posts requesting personal details or payment from unsuspecting farmers under the guise of program registration.
The agency clarified that it does not request personal or financial information such as Bank Verification Numbers (BVN), National Identification Numbers (NIN), or bank account details through calls, text messages, or social media platforms.
NADF also emphasized that the AgGrow Programme is free of charge and no registration or participation fees are required from farmers.
According to the Fund, all agricultural inputs under the AgGrow Programme are 100 percent financed by NADF and distributed exclusively through verified agro-processors. Individual farmers are not required to make any payments.
The official process for participating in the program includes biometric verification of farmers and geo-tagging of farms through NADF’s secure monitoring and evaluation platform. Agro-processors are responsible for settling 50 percent of the cost after harvest, with no direct repayment from farmers.
NADF is urging farmers and the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
