The Benue State Government has officially launched the Benue Startup Ecosystem Portal, a new digital platform aimed at empowering startups founded or co-founded by indigenes of the state. The portal is designed to accelerate innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation across Benue.
Spearheaded by the Benue Digital Infrastructure Company (BDIC) in collaboration with UNDP Nigeria through the Benue Agro Innovation Hub (BAIHub), the initiative forms part of a broader strategy to drive digital transformation and inclusive economic growth.
At the launch, BDIC Managing Director Terwase Hembaor-Gbande commended Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia for his commitment to tech-driven development. “This platform is your launchpad—from Makurdi to the world,” he said, underscoring the state’s vision to become a recognized innovation hub.
The portal offers a wide range of support for registered startups, including access to mentorship, technical assistance, funding opportunities, and accelerator programs. It also connects entrepreneurs to government contracts, tax incentives, and resources for international market entry.
Startups will benefit from real-time market intelligence and can engage directly with investors, government agencies, and other ecosystem partners.
The Benue Startup Ecosystem Portal is part of the state’s broader mission to build a resilient digital economy and position itself as a frontier for tech innovation in Nigeria.
