Fintech experts, under the umbrella of the Fintech Association of Nigeria, are creating a platform to connect fintech startups with investors interested in funding digital enterprises across the country.
The platform will take shape during the 2025 Nigeria Fintech Week (NFW), scheduled to hold from October 7 to 9. The event, themed “The Fintech Ecosystem Symphony: Orchestrating Nigeria’s Digital Future,” will bring together over 20,000 participants from various sectors across Africa’s digital economy.
Now in its 8th edition, Nigeria Fintech Week has grown into the continent’s leading gathering for fintech conversations, regulatory discussions, and deal-making. Since its inception in 2017, the event has driven market-shaping policies, encouraged investments, and connected innovators with stakeholders in finance and technology.
For the first time, NFW will adopt a multi-location format. While the main event will take place in Lagos, activities will also hold in Abuja, Delta, and Enugu states. This structure, according to organisers, aims to reflect fintech’s growing impact across all geopolitical zones and to promote grassroots inclusion.
Speaking at a press conference in Lagos, the President of the Fintech Association of Nigeria, Dr. Stanley Jacob, described the 2025 edition as more than an event. “We’re no longer just an association; we are a movement. NFW25 is where partnerships will be born, sectors will be reimagined, and Nigeria’s digital economy will be orchestrated like a grand symphony,” he said.
Vice President and Chair of the Organising Committee, Dr. Jameelah Sharrieff-Ayedun, noted that this year’s expansion is designed to ensure that everyone, regardless of background, can participate in shaping the country’s digital future. “Fintech is no longer for a select few. From the aviation sector to agriculture, from secondary school students to startup founders, this year, everyone has a seat at the table,” she said.
Also speaking, Uche Uzoebo of SANE added that the digital shift is now touching all sectors. “Whether you’re a startup, policymaker, enterprise, student, creative or influencer, developer, or fintech enthusiast, your voice matters in this symphony. Even food companies, schools, and churches are now digitising. NFW25 is where they find solutions and partnerships,” she said.
With increased focus on accessibility, innovation, and funding, the 2025 Nigeria Fintech Week is expected to accelerate the growth of digital finance and broaden inclusion across Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.
