The second edition of the annual Stability & Sustenance Business Summit is set to take place in Kampala, Uganda, with a strategic partnership forged between the summit organisers and the Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Association Limited (UWEAL). This collaboration aims to deepen support for African entrepreneurs through education, mentorship, and business development.
With the theme “Empowering African Entrepreneurs: Building Stable and Sustainable Futures Through Entrepreneur Education,” this year’s summit will provide both theoretical and practical insights for entrepreneurs looking to grow, scale, and sustain their businesses in the African context. The event is scheduled for August 7th and 8th at Hotel Africana in Kampala.
The summit will feature an impressive line-up of speakers and mentors from the United Kingdom, Nigeria, Uganda, and other countries, reflecting a wide range of expertise and perspectives. Leading the roster is UK-based investor and businessman Rishi Harani, Founder and CEO of Univesco Limited. Other speakers include Connie Kekihembo, CEO of UWEAL; Jesca Ahimbisibwe, Director of Women in Film Organisation Uganda; Dorothy Nabunjo, Director of Karizm/Xenson Art Space; Melody Fidel, Founder of Stability & Sustenance; and Judith Onwerumaru, CEO of Stability & Sustenance.
According to Connie Kekihembo, the collaboration is rooted in a shared mission to build a stronger foundation for women and entrepreneurs across the continent. “The objectives of Stability & Sustenance Business Summit align with UWEAL’s mission to empower women entrepreneurs, create opportunities, and push for favourable business policies for women in Uganda,” she said.
Participants of the summit will include SME owners, startups, creatives, students, freelancers, NGOs, donors, content creators, civic leaders, and policymakers—creating a broad and inclusive space for learning, networking, and transformation.
Melody Fidel described the summit as a vibrant two-day gathering designed to equip African entrepreneurs with the knowledge, resources, and connections necessary to build sustainable businesses and drive long-term impact. “This is not just a conference—it is a marketplace of ideas, partnerships, and solutions,” she said.
She added that whether entrepreneurs are starting from scratch, scaling up existing ventures, or influencing business policies and community development, the summit provides a powerful platform for action and collaboration.
The 2024 edition held in Abuja, Nigeria marked the inaugural Stability & Sustenance Summit, attracting hundreds of participants who benefitted from mentorship and business grants. Building on that success, the summit’s expansion into Uganda signals its commitment to creating a pan-African network of empowered entrepreneurs.
Since its establishment in 1987, UWEAL has remained a champion for women-led enterprises in Uganda, offering capacity-building programs, business networking, and advocacy for favourable entrepreneurial policies.
Together, Stability & Sustenance and UWEAL are setting the stage for a transformative summit experience—one that promises not only inspiration but also tangible opportunities for African entrepreneurs to thrive in an ever-changing business landscape.
