The Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative (BBYDI) has officially opened applications for its Capacity Building Workshop on Promoting Budget Literacy Among Citizens in Kwara State.
The initiative, supported by the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) and Christian Aid Nigeria, aims to equip citizens with the knowledge and skills needed to actively engage in governance, understand public finance, and hold leaders accountable.
In a statement, the organisation emphasized that the workshop is designed to demystify the budget process by showing participants how public funds are allocated and spent, and how citizens can ensure their tax rights are protected.
“We want citizens to understand their tax obligations, learn to use the Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) to report concerns, and gain practical experience in budget monitoring and evaluation,” BBYDI noted.
