Nestlé Professional, the out-of-home business arm of Nestlé Nigeria, has extended its flagship Business of Food workshop to Bauchi State, empowering 250 food MSMEs, including canteen operators, grillers, caterers, and street food vendors, with essential culinary and business management skills.

Now in its 11th edition, the program is designed to strengthen Nigeria’s micro, small, and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs) in the food sector by equipping participants with the confidence and knowledge to run profitable, sustainable businesses while ensuring that the meals they serve are nutritious and hygienically prepared.

The Business Manager of Nestlé Professional Nigeria, Ibraheem Awelenje, noted that the initiative is focused on building resilience for MSMEs across the country.

“Our goal is to see food vendors in Nigeria not just survive but thrive. Bauchi’s food entrepreneurs are deeply rooted in tradition, yet eager to innovate. By connecting them with practical skills, new ideas, and a network of peers, we’re investing in businesses that feed families, create jobs, and preserve our rich culinary heritage,” he said.

The workshop, organised in collaboration with the Bauchi State Association of Caterers and Food Vendors, also featured a live Masterclass by Nigerian chef, Chef Paulina, who demonstrated innovative and nutritious meal preparation techniques tailored to local markets.

With the Bauchi edition, Nestlé Professional continues to empower MSMEs as vital drivers of food security, job creation, and cultural preservation across Nigeria.
