Nigerian Govt Calls for Local, Global Partnerships to Drive Renewable Energy Growth
Share

The Federal Government has called for stronger collaborations with local and international companies to advance renewable energy adoption in Nigeria.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, made the call in Abuja when he received a delegation from KF Manufacturing Company, Guangzhou, China, led by its Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Bruce Zheng.

Akume stressed that renewable energy is central to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery and sustainability plan, noting that Nigeria cannot afford to lag in the global shift toward clean energy.

“The Federal Government is opening its doors to genuine local and foreign companies with the capacity and technology to drive renewable energy projects across the country. This partnership will go a long way to promote efficient power to people, industries, and domestic uses,” he said in a statement issued by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the SGF.

He further assured that the administration is committed to creating a conducive environment for investors by removing key obstacles to business. According to him, reforms such as the abolition of multiple foreign exchange systems and multiple taxation clearly signal government’s resolve to reduce costs, especially for small and medium enterprises.

Earlier, Zheng noted that renewable energy has yet to be fully embraced by most Nigerian institutions. He expressed his company’s readiness to partner with government to expand access to eco-friendly and safe energy solutions, adding that KF Manufacturing Company supplies green-compliant solar panels, batteries, and inverters that can reduce dependence on fossil fuels while protecting the environment.
