The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro, has visited the Julius Berger Nigeria Plc Associated Furniture Producers (AFP) showroom and factory in Abuja, as well as PrimeTech, an international firm specializing in sustainable design and construction. The visits form part of efforts to expand the programme’s vocational training opportunities for ex-agitators and other beneficiaries.

During the tour, Otuaro was conducted round the facilities by senior officials of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, including the General Manager of AFP and the company’s Head of Corporate Security and Compliance.

He explained that the move was aimed at exploring avenues for PAP to provide high-quality training in furniture and woodwork, as well as sustainable architectural design and engineering solutions built to global standards. According to him, equipping beneficiaries with structured, industry-grade training will empower them to produce internationally competitive products with high marketability.

Expressing satisfaction with the finishing, texture, and durability of the furniture he inspected, Otuaro said the facilities demonstrated the kind of excellence that could help transform vocational training for the Niger Delta youth. He emphasized that President Bola Tinubu had mandated him to ensure the programme delivers real value to the people of the region.

He noted that seeking appropriate facilities for training and retraining in critical vocational areas was key to realizing this vision. He added that the skills acquired would not only empower beneficiaries but also contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large.

Otuaro stressed that his visits were to see things firsthand and make informed decisions on vocational initiatives for ex-agitators. He described the industrial equipment and global appeal of the furniture production facilities as top-class, stating that with the right training, beneficiaries would be able to produce furniture that meets international standards.
