The IDG 2025 National Girls Leadership Essay Competition is a partnership initiative involving the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, the United Nations Population Fund, and the Federal Ministry of Education.
The National Girls Essay Competition seeks to identify and develop young Nigerians between 10 and 20 years for development, mentorship, and leadership training in celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child 2025.
The programme is themed: “The girl I am, the change I lead: Girls on the frontlines of crisis”, with the topic as follows;
Topic:
“Beyond the Stereotype: Nigerian Girls Breaking Barriers with a Toolbox.”
What role can young girls play in addressing unemployment leveraging vocational skilling; turning challenges into opportunities? (150 words)
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the National Girls Leadership Essay Competition 2025, you must:
- be a Young Nigerian Female between the age of 10 and 20 years.

- 1st position will be opportune to be the Minister for Youth Development for 24hours(Shadow Minister)
- 1st – 3rd Winners will receive cash gifts and will be opportune to be participants at the Girls Future Conference #GFC2025
