Akwa Ibom will host the 4th Agribusiness Roundtable International Conference, tagged “Uyo 2025,” with a major highlight being the groundbreaking of the Centre for Innovation and Sustainable Agriculture (CISA). Organisers say the centre will serve as a hub for value addition, exports, and innovative solutions across the South East, South South, and surrounding regions.
Themed “Resilient Agribusiness: A Sustainable Solution for a Changing World,” the four-day conference will run from October 26 to 29, 2025, at Watbridge Hotels & Suites, Uyo. It will feature the launch of the Climate Smart Village Programme, exhibitions, workshops, agro-tourism activities, and the Agribusiness Development and Enterprise Awards (ADEA).
According to the Nigeria Agro-business and Agro-Industry Development Initiative (NAADI), the gathering will bring together experts, investors, policymakers, and stakeholders from across Nigeria and beyond to chart strategies for food security, rural development, and sustainable growth.
The organisers explained that in a rapidly changing global landscape, resilient agribusiness practices are essential for boosting productivity, strengthening economic opportunities, and protecting the environment. They added that the roundtable will provide a platform for knowledge exchange, investment attraction, and the development of policies to support agribusiness growth.
Over 500 participants are expected, including governors, ministers, diplomats, lawmakers, commissioners, industry leaders, SMEs, banks, and development partners. The Governor of Akwa Ibom, Umo Eno, will serve as the Chief Host, alongside six other South-South governors.
The ADEA will honour individuals and organisations who have pioneered innovative agricultural solutions and contributed to the growth of sustainable systems in the sector.
Organisers described the 2025 edition as a strategic event that will position Akwa Ibom as a key destination for agribusiness development in Nigeria and beyond.
