Cybervilla, Ogun Govt Launch Tech Empowerment Initiative to Train Certified Digital Technicians
Share

The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model adopted by the Ogun State Government has continued to yield positive results, with the graduation of a new set of certified digital technicians under the CyberSquad Training Program. This program is designed to equip young people with practical skills in hardware repair, equipment configuration, and advanced technical support.

The program, a collaboration between the Ogun State Government and Cybervilla, was celebrated at a convocation ceremony held at the Ogun TechHub, Abeokuta, marking the completion of the pilot phase of the free training initiative.

Speaking at the event, Cybervilla’s Chief Executive Officer, Ifeanyi Adirika, described the partnership as a model of effective public-private collaboration that directly empowers youth through technology-driven capacity building.

“Partnering with the Ogun State government to provide free technical support and training to its teeming youths demonstrates the sincerity of this PPP initiative,” Adirika said. “Cybervilla is proud to be one of the state’s core investors in technology.”

He added that graduates from the first cohort have formed a network of forward-thinking digital technicians redefining troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment installation across Nigeria while promoting Ogun State’s growing tech identity.

Interested participants, he noted, can register for the next training session via https://bit.ly/cybersqaudabeokutacohort2.

In his goodwill message, the Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT, Dayo Abiodun, congratulated the graduates, saying the initiative had removed barriers for aspiring tech professionals.

“Through these modules, anyone with determination can learn, grow, and become employable in the digital space,” Abiodun said.

He explained that the Cybervilla partnership, initiated earlier in the year, was part of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s ongoing efforts to build a vibrant digital and vocational ecosystem supporting the state’s expanding digital economy.

Also speaking, the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, was represented by Olatundun Adekunte, Director of Standard Regulations, Planning, and Research at the Bureau of Information Technology, who commended the initiative and congratulated the trainees.

He praised Governor Abiodun for establishing the Ogun TechHub, which, he said, continues to expose young people to the vast opportunities in digital technology and innovation.

“I urge the graduating students to spread awareness about this programme so more young people can benefit, and unemployment can be reduced to the barest minimum,” he added.

One of the beneficiaries, Timilehin Ajisebutu, speaking on behalf of the graduating trainees, expressed gratitude to the Ogun State Government and Cybervilla for the opportunity.

“We are grateful for this life-changing opportunity and promise to put the knowledge and skills gained during the three-month program to effective use,” he said.
