The Lagos State Government, through its Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, in collaboration with the Ishk Tolaram Foundation, has announced the launch of a fully funded Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program for young Lagos residents.
Tagged “Get Skilled, Earn Money,” the initiative is designed to equip participants with practical, in-demand skills and hands-on experience to improve employability and foster self-reliance among youths across the state.
Programme Overview
The empowerment scheme will run for six months, consisting of:
- 3 months of intensive vocational training
- 3 months of paid internship, offering industry exposure and real-world work experience
Eligibility
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be aged 18–35 years
- Possess a LASRRA ID
- Have at least a secondary school education
- Be currently unemployed
Available Skills
Participants can choose from several high-demand trades, including:
- Fashion Design
- Solar Installation
- Masonry & Tiling
- Plumbing & Pipe Fitting
- Carpentry & Furniture Making
- Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
Training Centres
Training will take place at centres located in:
Ikeja, Oko-Oba, Oshodi, Oworonshoki, Ogba, and Ojodu.
