Snappcode Productions has unveiled a new initiative designed to fund and spotlight young African creatives, offering micro-grants and visibility support for personal stories and creative projects. The company announced the programme under the name Snappcode Creators Grant, explaining that it targets filmmakers, photographers, designers, editors and digital storytellers who have strong narratives but lack the resources to execute them.
The initiative seeks to elevate stories that explore resilience, culture, identity and social change, while helping young talents build sustainable careers in the creative economy.
The Chief Executive Officer of Snappcode Productions said the vision behind the grant is to remove long-standing barriers that have slowed creative growth across the continent. He described Africa as a continent abundant in talent yet constrained by insufficient structure, limited trust and the absence of consistent industry visibility.
He added that the Snappcode Creators Grant aims to champion inspiring stories, empower creators capable of shaping the industry and back careers with the potential to cross borders and gain international traction.
Under the scheme, one creator will be selected to receive a N1m grant. Applicants are required to share an Instagram carousel or video narrating their personal creative journey, highlighting early influences, challenges, aspirations and how the funding could strengthen their craft. The organisers emphasised that they are particularly interested in raw, memorable storytelling that clearly communicates passion, vision and potential impact.
Snappcode also announced openness to partnerships with brands, investors and public agencies to scale the initiative over time. It said such collaboration could deepen long-term support for Africa’s digital and creative workforce, an economy where young people continue to drive innovation.
