Simba TVS has strengthened its partnership with the Consumer Credit Corporation of Nigeria and Gamma Mobility to support the Federal Government-led Mobility Programme, which aims to economically empower 10,000 women across the country, thereby deepening efforts to increase women’s participation in Nigeria’s commercial transport sector.
The collaboration was formally launched in the Federal Capital Territory, where CREDICORP, working with Gamma Mobility, handed over TVS King Deluxe Plus tricycles, popularly known as keke, alongside certificates of proficiency to women who had been trained under Simba TVS’ Queen Riders Programme. The beneficiaries were trained as professional tricycle riders through the initiative, which focuses on skills development and access to income-generating assets.
The programme is designed to widen access to consumer credit while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for women, particularly those from under-represented backgrounds. By combining asset financing with professional training, the initiative aims to lower entry barriers that have historically limited women’s involvement in the transport business.
Simba TVS said its decision to prioritise women is rooted in their role as key drivers of economic growth at household and community levels. The company described the Queen Riders Programme as a practical empowerment model that delivers riding skills, technical knowledge, entrepreneurship support, and access to reliable mobility tools needed to run small transport businesses.
The company noted that the tricycles are intended as productive assets rather than just vehicles, enabling beneficiaries to earn a steady income, build sustainable micro-enterprises, and support their families. Simba TVS added that the initiative reflects its broader commitment to inclusive growth and long-term economic participation for women in traditionally male-dominated sectors.
CREDICORP’s management highlighted the long-standing relationship between the corporation and Simba TVS, describing the partnership as one built on shared values and a focus on delivering practical mobility solutions. The corporation said multiple visits to Simba TVS’ Lagos assembly plant reinforced confidence in the company’s local manufacturing capacity, quality standards, and commitment to Nigeria’s industrial development.
The initiative was described as deliberately structured to integrate consumer credit, asset provision, professional training, and business support. Gamma Mobility was identified as playing a key role in programme execution and operational support, helping to ensure that beneficiaries are positioned for long-term success rather than short-term income.
Beneficiaries of the programme expressed appreciation for the opportunity, noting that the training and support provided gave them confidence to pursue livelihoods they previously considered unattainable. Participants said the programme equipped them with riding skills and basic maintenance knowledge, enabling them to contribute more meaningfully to household income and economic stability.
The Queen Riders Programme is a women-focused empowerment initiative by Simba TVS that provides training, certification, and access to tricycles, opening pathways to financial independence while strengthening the broader small-business ecosystem within Nigeria’s transport sector.
