Call for Applications: AMR Leaders Program for Tertiary Students in Africa (Cohort 4)

Applications are now open for Cohort 4 of the AMR Leaders Program for Tertiary Students in Africa, an initiative designed to equip young Africans with the knowledge, leadership skills, and advocacy tools needed to tackle Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) across the continent.

The program targets motivated tertiary students who are passionate about public health, research, advocacy, and sustainable development, and who want to play an active role in shaping Africa’s response to AMR.

About the AMR Leaders Program

The AMR Leaders Program for Tertiary Students in Africa is a structured leadership and capacity-building initiative focused on raising a new generation of AMR champions. Through training, mentorship, and community engagement, the programme empowers students to understand AMR challenges and contribute to awareness, policy dialogue, and grassroots action.

Who Can Apply?

The programme is open to applicants who meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a tertiary institution student in Africa
  • Enrolled in a university, polytechnic, college of education, or equivalent institution
  • Demonstrates interest in public health, life sciences, policy, research, or advocacy
  • Passionate about addressing antimicrobial resistance in Africa
  • Willing to participate actively throughout the programme duration
