The National Cashew Association of Nigeria (NCAN) has said the 2026 Nigerian Cashew Day Conference is strategically designed to unlock new growth opportunities for stakeholders across the cashew value chain, with national interest, sector reforms and long-term industry development at the heart of discussions.
In a statement signed by its National President, Dr. Ojo Joseph Ajanaku, the association disclosed that its national executive committee, in collaboration with state chapters nationwide, is fully aligned and committed to delivering a landmark conference capable of driving productivity, investment and sustainable value creation within Nigeria’s cashew industry.
According to NCAN, the conference is expected to serve as a major convergence platform for cashew farmers, processors, exporters, investors, policymakers and development partners, while strengthening collaboration across production, processing, marketing and export segments of the value chain.
The three-day event is scheduled to hold from January 22 to 24, 2026, at the Shehu Musa Ya’Adua Centre, Abuja.
NCAN noted that Nigeria’s cashew sector holds significant potential for job creation, foreign exchange earnings and MSME growth, but requires coordinated action, policy alignment and private-sector investment to fully realise its capacity. The association expressed confidence that deliberations, policy recommendations and resolutions from the conference would contribute meaningfully to improving productivity, attracting investment flows and enhancing Nigeria’s competitiveness in the global cashew market.
“The interest of Nigeria and the collective advancement of the cashew sector remain our utmost priority. The National Executive, in collaboration with all State Executives, is fully aligned and committed to delivering a landmark conference that will signal a new beginning for the cashew industry,” the statement said.
NCAN added that the 2026 Nigerian Cashew Day Conference would act as a catalyst for addressing key challenges facing the sector, including access to finance, value addition, export quality standards, mechanisation and market expansion for smallholder farmers and cashew-based MSMEs.
The association also expressed appreciation to industry stakeholders for their continued trust and engagement, noting that sustained collaboration remains critical to achieving inclusive and sustainable growth within the sector. It assured both local and international partners that participation in the conference would be impactful, value-driven and beneficial to long-term sector development.
“The conference will serve as a rallying point for meeting the aspirations of cashew farmers, processors, exporters, investors and development partners, while strengthening collaboration across the entire value chain,” the statement added.
