FG Pushes AI Adoption to Drive Innovation, Employment and SME Growth

The Federal Government has urged young Nigerian innovators to harness the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to tackle the country’s socio-economic challenges and accelerate job creation and business growth.

The Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, made the call while speaking with journalists after delivering the Distinguished Personality Lecture Series at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife. The lecture was themed “ICT and Employment Generation: Strategies for Economic Growth.”

Tijani encouraged tech-savvy Nigerians to shift their mindset from focusing on national challenges to identifying opportunities for innovation, stressing that the future of Nigeria’s economy depends on individuals building technology-driven solutions.

“We live at a time that is totally different. While there are challenges, we must begin to see Nigeria as a country filled with opportunities to build. The future we require will demand many people creating new things,” he said.
