Call for Applications: Youth Hub Africa Media Internship Programme (MIP) Cohort 5
Share

Youth Hub Africa has officially opened applications for the 5th Cohort of its Media Internship Programme (MIP), offering young Nigerians the opportunity to acquire relevant digital media and employability skills required in today’s fast-evolving media landscape. The programme is designed to help young creatives transition from learning into practical, real-world media experience through a combination of structured training and internship placement.

The 2026 edition of the Media Internship Programme is intentionally designed to be more skill-driven, practical, and impact-oriented. It focuses on equipping participants with hands-on experience, industry exposure, and professional competencies that align with current media and communication demands.

Why This Programme Matters

Nigeria’s media and creative industries continue to grow rapidly, yet many young people struggle to convert their interest in media into employable skills. The gap between passion and professionalism often lies in limited access to practical training, mentorship, and real workplace exposure.

The Youth Hub Africa Media Internship Programme directly addresses this gap by combining intensive digital media training with internship placements that expose participants to real projects, workflows, and industry expectations. By focusing on hands-on learning, the programme helps young creatives build confidence, technical competence, and professional readiness, positioning them for sustainable careers in media, communication, and digital storytelling.

Who Is Eligible to Apply

  • The programme is open to young Nigerian graduates and creatives who have a strong interest in media, storytelling, and digital communication.
  • Applicants should be interested in areas such as photography, videography, social media management, content creation, or development communication.
  • Participation is strictly for individuals based in Abuja, as the training is conducted fully in person.
  • Applicants must own a laptop and be able to commit fully to the one-week training programme, which will run from 11 March to 16 March 2026, including a mandatory Saturday session.
  • Full attendance throughout the training period is required, as participants who do not complete the training will not progress to the internship phase.

What Participants Will Gain

  • Selected participants will receive intensive, hands-on media training tailored to modern digital platforms and current industry needs.
  • Following the training phase, participants will be placed in internships where they will gain exposure to real media projects, professional workflows, and workplace expectations, helping them build both technical skills and career-ready confidence.

Application Deadline and Process

Applications close on 18 February 2026, and interested candidates are encouraged to apply early, as spaces are limited.

Applications can be submitted via the official application form:
