Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc (AEDC) solidifies its position as a leader in integrated power solutions through a groundbreaking tripartite agreement with Daystar Power Solutions Limited and The Wood Factory Limited. This marks a milestone in delivering the first grid-connected and solar hybrid power solution for commercial and industrial customers in Nigeria.
Building on the success of the interconnected mini-grid power solution in Toto, Nasarawa State, AEDC, Daystar Power, and Wood Factory collaborate to provide 18 hours of reliable electricity supply to Wood Factory, a leading furniture manufacturer. Daystar Power will contribute an additional six hours of solar-powered electricity, creating a seamless and sustainable energy supply model.
This innovative power solution is expected to result in a remarkable 44% reduction in energy costs and an impressive 76% annual decrease in carbon emissions for Wood Factory. AEDC’s strategic objective is to redefine customer experience by delivering reliable electricity to a broader customer base, including the unserved and underserved.
Christopher Ezeafulukwe, Managing Director and CEO of AEDC, highlighted the transformative impact of the project, emphasizing the company’s commitment to using diversified energy sources to better serve customers and close the supply gap in the market.
