The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) is calling on young African talents and aspiring professionals to apply for its prestigious 2025 Internship Program,a six-month opportunity designed to equip future leaders with practical experience in trade finance, policy, and economic development.
Though unpaid in the traditional sense, selected interns will receive a tax-free monthly stipend of $1,000, with an additional $500 housing allowance for those relocating from outside the host country.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
Be aged 20 to 32 at the time of application.
Be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate program in a recognized institution.
Be studying relevant fields such as economics, finance, accounting, law, engineering, statistics, or the social sciences.
Demonstrate fluency in English or French (knowledge of Arabic or Portuguese is an added advantage).
Provide a recommendation letter from their academic institution for the internship period.

Individuals of African descent in the diaspora
Non-Africans aligned with Afreximbank’s mission
Program Details
Internship Duration: 6 months
Start Dates: January and June annually
Locations: Primarily at Afreximbank’s Cairo HQ, with possible placements at offices in Abuja, Harare, Abidjan, Kampala, Yaoundé, or Bridgetown
Support Provided: $1,000 monthly stipend + $500 relocation allowance
Interns will be assigned to departments that align with their academic and career interests, undergo mentorship, and participate in a structured induction and rotation program.
At the end of the internship, a detailed report on key learnings and future applications must be submitted.
