Share

Accra recently hosted the inaugural pitch contest for the Africa Street MBA (AfSMBA) Accelerator program, where three outstanding entrepreneurs emerged victorious. Nicholas Donkor of Nichosoft Solutions claimed the top spot, securing GH¢ 10,000 worth of business branding after a competitive pitching session featuring over 15 entrepreneurs who had completed the program. Abdul Rahman Samira of Wintima Weaninix secured the second position, earning GH¢ 7,000 worth of business branding, while Patricia Benamba of Trixy Benamba Enterprise secured the third position with GH¢ 4,000 worth of business branding. Additionally, all participants received a general cash prize of GH¢ 1,000.

The Africa Street MBA program, an initiative of DONE BY US, a management consultancy and investment firm, aims to provide integrated regional support for startups and small businesses. It emphasizes business development services and funding for young entrepreneurs, with a focus on marginalized groups, including women, individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, and those with limited formal education, who possess innovative business ideas or have already established businesses. Funded by the KGL Foundation, the program delivers world-class business knowledge based on top MBA curriculum and entrepreneurial course content to empower young entrepreneurs.

King A. Wellington, Founder of Done By Us, highlighted the program’s 12-week Accelerator initiative, which equipped young entrepreneurs with essential business knowledge, skills, and resources, enabling them to thrive in a competitive business landscape. Africa Street MBA is dedicated to bridging the business knowledge gap and providing opportunities for individuals from underprivileged backgrounds to build successful enterprises.

Nii Ankonu Annorbah-Sarpei, Program Manager of the KGL Foundation, also served as a judge during the pitch contest and expressed satisfaction with the entrepreneurs’ knowledge and presentations. The KGL Foundation remains committed to addressing social development challenges in the country and sees its partnership with DONE BY US in supporting the Africa Street MBA Accelerator program as a means to create employment opportunities, encourage innovation, and support new businesses, particularly among marginalized groups.”
