Airtel Nigeria reiterated its commitment to bolstering the growth of startups as catalysts for economic advancement during its sponsorship of the Africa Startup Festival held at the Landmark Event Center in Lagos on November 11, 2023.

OyeAkideinde, General Manager of Digital Products and Innovation at Airtel Nigeria, emphasized the brand’s dedication to supporting new businesses, aligning with Airtel’s theme of “A reason to imagine.”

The festival, sponsored by Airtel Nigeria, showcased a series of enlightening keynote speeches, educational panel discussions, and practical workshops, underscoring various aspects crucial to the development of African startups.

Mr. Akideinde expressed Airtel’s eagerness to collaborate with startups possessing a deep understanding of their ventures, emphasizing the potential to achieve ambitious goals collectively.

Regarding partnerships with financial startups, he clarified that Airtel welcomes collaborations provided they present viable prospects and offer substantial value, irrespective of being in the digital or tech realm.

During the Africa Startup Festival, founders were given a platform within a dedicated ‘Deal room’ to pitch their concepts to Airtel Nigeria. This opportunity aimed to secure crucial investments and transformative partnerships that could propel their startups towards growth and success.

The annual Africa Startup Festival celebrates and bolsters entrepreneurship and innovation across the continent, fostering connections among startups, investors, and industry experts to explore new avenues for progress. Airtel Nigeria stood as a headline sponsor for the 2023 edition, showcasing its firm commitment to nurturing the startup ecosystem.
