Share

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has unveiled a N310 million grant to support 62 entrepreneurs across the state. Each entrepreneur will receive N5 million, with two beneficiaries selected from each of the 31 local government areas.

Speaking during a Thanksgiving service in Uyo, the governor directed interested applicants to submit a two-minute video showcasing their business ideas online. He emphasized that the initiative aims to stimulate economic activity and generate jobs across the state.

In addition, Eno announced plans to host a “Power Summit” to address the state’s electricity challenges. The summit will bring together experts and stakeholders to create a roadmap for achieving uninterrupted power supply in Akwa Ibom.

The governor also revealed plans to collaborate with corporate organizations where Akwa Ibom indigenes hold leadership positions, with the goal of attracting investments to the state.

Calling for unity, Eno urged citizens to support his administration’s sustainable development agenda, emphasizing collective efforts to build a brighter future for the state.

The Thanksgiving service, held annually to mark the start of the year, took place at the International Christian Worship Centre in Uyo. It was attended by people from various denominations and sectors, celebrating the state’s achievements and seeking divine guidance for the year ahead
