Award-winning career and entrepreneurship accelerator, ALX Africa, recently strengthened its role as a top tech accelerator by hosting a product management masterclass for its community members. The exclusive session aimed to empower African entrepreneurs with the tools to create innovative, market-driven products.
The masterclass, tailored for learners in the ALX Founders Academy, forms part of a broader entrepreneurship program designed to help participants transform ideas into viable businesses. The program connects entrepreneurs with a vibrant peer community and provides access to successful African startup founders through live masterclasses.
Chidi Afulezi, a product specialist and founder of redKola Digital Labs, led the session, focusing on the core principles of product development and management. He highlighted the importance of deeply understanding and validating customer problems to create meaningful solutions.
“Entrepreneurs need to fall in love with the problem they are trying to solve,” Afulezi explained. “The journey is about discovering the problem, the customers affected, and the solutions that meet market needs. Only then can they build a product that is viable, feasible, and valuable.”
Ruby Igwe, ALX Nigeria’s Country General Manager, reflected on the impact of the session: “We organize masterclasses like this to inspire and equip our learners with the best resources and knowledge. Our goal is to empower them to create products that will shape Africa’s economic future.”
ALX Founders Academy has already been instrumental in the success of several African startups, including Aquatrack, Luna, and Healthtracka, which raised $1.5 million in 2022.
Through initiatives like this, ALX Africa continues to nurture entrepreneurial talent and drive innovation across the continent.
