Application Now Open For Stanbic IBTC Digital Skills Empowerment Programme (DiSEP)
Share

Stanbic IBTC has launched the Digital Skills Empowerment Programme (DiSEP), an intensive initiative designed to train and equip young Nigerians with in-demand digital skills. The programme seeks to bridge the growing gap in digital talent, prepare participants for certifications, and position them for careers in technology and innovation.

For young graduates passionate about technology, this is a chance to gain structured training and contribute to the digital transformation journey of Stanbic IBTC Group while building career-ready skills.

Key Highlights of DiSEP

Program Type: Digital training and professional certification support.
Eligibility: Nigerian graduates of IT or Engineering with NYSC discharge certificate.
Age Limit: Applicants must not be older than 28 years at the time of application.
Preferred Fields: Kubernetes, .NET Core, C#, Java, DevOps, Software Testing & Automation.
Education Requirement: Minimum of a Second Class Lower in IT or Engineering from an accredited university.
Other Requirement: Minimum of five credits in GCE, NECO or equivalent (including English and Mathematics).
Selection Process: Online pre-training assessment for shortlisted candidates.

Why This Matters for Nigerian Youth

Nigeria’s digital economy is growing rapidly, but the shortage of skilled professionals remains a challenge. According to industry reports, demand for software developers, cloud engineers, and automation experts is far higher than the available talent pool. Programmes like DiSEP directly address this gap by providing training in high-demand areas and connecting graduates to real career opportunities.

For MSMEs and startups, this also means access to a growing pool of digitally savvy professionals who can drive innovation and efficiency.

What Participants Can Expect

Successful candidates will undergo intensive training, gain access to certification pathways, and receive guidance from experts at Stanbic IBTC. Past trainees of similar programmes within the banking and tech sector have reported significant career acceleration, with some securing roles in leading companies or advancing to higher studies with stronger technical portfolios.

Tips for a Successful Application

* Be clear about your preferred technical field and how it aligns with your career goals.
* Update your CV to highlight relevant coursework, projects, or internships.
* Prepare for the online assessment by revising core IT and engineering concepts.
* Ensure all required documents (NYSC discharge certificate, degree certificate, transcripts) are readily available.

How to Apply

1. Visit the official Stanbic IBTC Digital Skills Empowerment Programme portal.
2. Complete the application form with accurate personal and academic details, including date of birth, gender, and degree class.
3. Upload the required documents (degree certificate, NYSC discharge, identification, academic records).
4. Await communication regarding the online pre-training assessment.
