Aso Multi-Media, a group dedicated to the gainful empowerment of Nigerian youths, has partnered with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to launch a South West youth empowerment program. The official flag-off event is scheduled to take place in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Monday, August 26, 2024.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Amb. Kingsley Tolu Agboola, the Project Coordinator and Executive Director of Aso Multi-Media, emphasized that the initiative is designed to combat poverty among the youth in the South West region through impactful empowerment. The training will cover a range of professional fields, including Technology, Agriculture, Waste Management, Beauty/Fashion, and other sectors.
Agboola highlighted that participants will be selected from the six states within the geopolitical zone—Ondo, Ekiti, Lagos, Oyo, Osun, and Ogun States. A total of 120 beneficiaries, with 20 participants from each state, will undergo training. Following the training, these participants will be placed in internships for proper empowerment and skill development.
The project is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities of the Southwest Advancement Award and Investment Summit, which is also organized by Aso Multi-Media. The summit began in 2021 in Lagos and has been held annually.
Earlier this year, Aso Multi Media also hosted the Southwest Youth Entrepreneurship Summit 2024 in March, further demonstrating its commitment to youth empowerment and entrepreneurship in the region.
