The Bauchi State Commissioner for Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, Hon. Sadiq Hamisu Shira, has inaugurated the reconstituted board and management of the Agency for Sustainable Microfinance. This event marks a significant milestone in the ministry’s efforts to empower Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and bolster the growth of microfinance institutions in the state.

Commissioner Shira highlighted the pivotal role of the Bauchi State Agency for Sustainable Microfinance as a vital link between the government, financial institutions, and entrepreneurs who drive the economy. The agency’s objective of providing access to affordable credit, business development services, and policy support aims to unleash the immense potential of SMEs and enable their success.

He underscored the unwavering commitment of the Bauchi State government, under the leadership of Governor Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, to create an enabling environment for SMEs and microfinance institutions. Governor Mohammed recognizes the crucial contribution of these sectors to economic development, job creation, and poverty reduction in communities across the state.
