Entrepreneurs in Borno State participating in the 6th Expanded National MSME Clinics and Fashion Hub will receive an unconditional grant of N300,000 each to support and grow their businesses.
Vice President Kashim Shettima announced the initiative during the event’s opening at the Government House in Maiduguri, stating that all outstanding MSMEs exhibiting at the clinic would be eligible for the grant. “On behalf of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I am pleased to announce an unconditional grant of N300,000 for each outstanding MSME,” he said.
Shettima emphasized that the Borno MSME Clinic is part of a broader national effort to strengthen small businesses. The grants are non-repayable, reflecting the Federal Government’s commitment to sustaining MSME growth.
The Vice President also highlighted the newly inaugurated Borno State Fashion Hub, which is expected to create up to 48,000 jobs annually. He described it as one of the largest fashion hubs established by the government, designed to boost the state’s fashion manufacturing sector.
Governor Babagana Zulum underscored his administration’s inclusive approach to supporting small businesses, noting that MSMEs in Borno have faced significant challenges due to prolonged insurgency and economic difficulties. He affirmed that the MSME Clinic will revitalize business activities, create jobs, and expand income opportunities for residents.
