Brand Communicator Set To Hold WIMCA 2020 Nov. 13

A leading brands and marketing publication, Brand Communicator has announced the fourth  edition of its prestigious annual Women In Marketing and Communications Conference/Awards (WIMCA) scheduled to hold on Friday, November 13, 2020 on virtual platform at 9am prompt.

According to the organisers, WIMCA is the foremost thought leadership platform for insights and contemporary trends in engaging female consumers and at the same time recognising outstanding women and corporate organisations for their contributions to the growth of their various industries and the country at large. Basically, the event is divided into two sections; conference and awards which hold the same day. It is a free to attend event. Interested participants can register at www.wimca.ng

Confirmed to speak at the conference as Keynote speaker is Victor Olugbenga Afolabi, Group Managing Director, GDM, who will be speaking on the theme “Generation equality; imperatives of gender inclusion for the growth of brands and marketing communications.”

In the same vein, the sub-theme is titled “Leveraging data science for effective engagement of female consumers” and the panelists billed to speak are Ifeoma Dozie, Director Marketing and Communications SSA, Mastercard; Dr. Tola Bamigbaiye-Elatuyi, Executive Director, Marketing HS Media Group and Bukola Akingbade, Founder and CEO at Kucheza Gaming.

In addition, the other panelists billed to speak on the second sub-theme titled “Each for equal; navigating through tough terrains” are Ayodele Otujinrin, Marketing Lead, West Africa, Godrej Consumer Products Limited; Amaechi Okobi, Group Head, Corporate Communications, Access Bank; Nkiru Olumide-Ojo, Author/Founder, Lighthouse Women’s Network; Ilyas Kazeem, Marketing Director, Eat ‘n’ Go Limited and Phoebe Dami-Asolo, Customer Marketing & Commercial Manager, The Coca-Cola Company.

Speaking on the level of preparation for the conference and awards, the convener of WIMCA, Joshua Ajayi, Publisher of Brand Communicator said, “WIMCA this year will be virtual and it is the first time we will be holding a virtual event and this is occasioned by the spread of COVID-19 pandemic and the new normal, however, it won’t reduce the standard and the excellence the conference is known for as veterans in the brands and marketing communications industry will share their worth of knowledge and give insights on gender equality and engagement.

“Also, the glamour and the prestige of our awards will still be the same as we will celebrate and show to the world the women professionals who are making the difference in their respective fields.”

Interestingly, other objective of WIMCA is to serve as a mentorship platform for young and prospective female professionals to ignite their potential towards attaining enviable heights in marketing and management. Also, it is to inspire the entrepreneurial spirit in women towards creating and sustaining enduring marketing and communications industry businesses.

In addition, since inception, WIMCA has been a platform that recognises and rewards female professionals, brands and organisations for their contributions to their various industries and nation building.

Expected attendees include, chief executives of marketing communications businesses and brands, marketing directors of corporate organisations, senior advertising practitioners and professionals, senior and middle level female executives in creative, public relations, media planning, digital, and experiential marketing agencies, female members of corporate communications and marketing departments in corporate organisations, marketing managers, brand managers, and product managers, industry recognised professional bodies, such as APCON, NIMN, CIM, Members of advertising Industry groups: MIPAN, AAAN, OAAN, PRCAN, ADVAN, EXMAN as well as female students of mass communication, marketing and allied disciplines.
