CAC Accuses Some Nigerians Of Trying To Hack, Discredit New Smart Company Portal
Share

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has raised concerns over deliberate efforts by certain individuals to discredit its newly launched Intelligent Company Registration Portal (ICRP), warning that such actions could derail ongoing progress in digitalising Nigeria’s company registration process.

In a public notice, the Commission stated that it had identified attempts to bypass the portal’s smart system by manipulating word and phrase selection during registration. It described these actions as coordinated efforts aimed at undermining the platform’s credibility and the broader use of artificial intelligence in streamlining regulatory processes.

The ICRP, which uses AI to automate and improve registration procedures, is designed to become more efficient with continued use. According to the Commission, the system is not static but learns and evolves through interactions. It assured the public that the portal is already demonstrating greater independence and adaptability, with the goal of delivering faster, simpler, and more compliant company registration experiences.

While affirming its commitment to enhancing service delivery, the CAC welcomed genuine feedback from users, saying it plays a crucial role in refining the platform’s performance. It, however, cautioned against heeding misinformation from those trying to manipulate or sabotage the registration process.

“Let’s work together to build a system that works for all,” the Commission urged, calling for collective support to ensure the platform reaches its full potential.
