The Corporate Affairs Commission has announced a new date for the commencement of its revised service fees, moving the implementation from September 1 to October 1, 2025.
This marks the second adjustment of the fee rollout, which was initially scheduled to take effect on August 15 before being shifted to September. The Commission explained that the fresh postponement is to allow more time for the full stabilization of its upgraded Company Registration Portal.
The portal has faced repeated complaints from Nigerians seeking to register new companies or file statutory documents, with users reporting glitches and delays.
In a public notice issued on Saturday, the Commission said the decision reflects its commitment to ensuring a smooth and efficient transition. It noted that its priority is to optimize the performance of the new registration platform before introducing the revised charges. Stabilization of the system is expected to be completed by mid-September.
By deferring the rollout, the Commission said it intends to deliver optimum value and ensure businesses, investors, and the public experience a seamless transition. It added that the reform is part of its goal to build a more intelligent and customer-focused registry in line with international standards.
The CAC first announced the review of its service fees in June, citing the need to improve service delivery, adapt to current economic realities, and sustain its digital transformation. It explained that the adjustments, though modest, are necessary to cover rising operational costs and to strengthen the efficiency and credibility of Nigeria’s corporate registry.
According to the Commission, the revised fees will remain competitive while boosting investor confidence in the country’s business environment.
