The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Youth is excited to announce the launch of its 2025 Local Pathways Fellowship.

This globally recognized program is designed to empower passionate young individuals committed to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in their local communities.

The fellowship offers an unparalleled opportunity for youth leaders to gain knowledge, build networks, and implement transformative projects that address pressing global challenges.

Eligibility Criteria

The Local Pathways Fellowship seeks to attract a diverse cohort of young leaders from around the world. To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be aged between 18 and 30 years.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainable development and the SDGs.
  • Have experience or interest in urban planning, community development, or related fields.
  • Possess excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Be able to dedicate approximately 10 hours per week to fellowship activities.

Fellowship Activities

As a Local Pathways Fellow, you will:

  1. Develop Local Projects: Identify sustainability challenges in your community and design innovative projects to address them.
  2. Participate in Training Modules: Engage in a series of virtual training sessions on SDG localization, urban sustainability, and project implementation.
  3. Collaborate with Peers: Work closely with other fellows to exchange ideas, insights, and best practices.
  4. Engage with Stakeholders: Collaborate with local governments, NGOs, and community organizations to maximize the impact of your projects.
  5. Showcase Your Work: Present your projects and achievements through reports, webinars, and global events organized by SDSN Youth.

Objectives of the Fellowship

The Local Pathways Fellowship aims to:

  • Empower Youth Leaders: Equip young changemakers with the skills and knowledge to address sustainability challenges effectively.
  • Foster Local Action: Encourage localized implementation of the SDGs through innovative, context-specific projects.
  • Build Networks: Connect fellows with a global network of like-minded individuals, experts, and organizations.
  • Enhance Impact: Provide mentorship and resources to amplify the impact of fellows’ projects.
